18 GOLD MEDALS BREAKS HISTORY OF NLSIU


Yamuna Menon breaks the history and For the first time in the National Law School of India
University (NLSIU), has won a record of 18 gold medals, She is a student of BA LLB (Hons)
programme,
She was awarded at 28th Annual Convocation of NLSIU held on September 27. There Ms
Menon won 18 medals, 20 other graduates shared the remaining 30.
An official statement stated that, “ Total Forty-eight gold medals were awarded to the graduates
from different academics as a recognition for their achievements. Ms Yamuna Menon,
graduated with a BA LLB (Hons) Degree received a total of 18 medals - this is the highest
number of medals received by any student in the history of the University".
further added that -This year, 576 students have graduated from various academic programmes
offered at NLSIU.
Ms Yamuna Menon has won medals for-
securing first rank, meritorious student award , outstanding graduating student, overall topper,
best outgoing student, best outgoing undergraduate student, best outgoing female student and
other achievements.
Om Birla, Lok sabha speaker has congratulated Yamuna Menon. In his message, on
microblogging platform Twitter, Mr Birla stated that- Yamuna Menon of National Law School of
India University is the first student in the history of the University has won total 18 gold medals
in BA-LLB (Hons.) and Heartiest congratulations to Yamuna for her achievement and this will
inspire other students.”
