From the past eight months after the lock down in India. Lakshadweep remains the only place in India with zero COVID cases.

On  Thursday, students of class 1-5 for the first time in this academic year went to school and all the classes were beautifully decorated and freshly painted to welcome students coming after a long time.

According to reports, The decision to restart offline classes was taken by Dineshwar Sharma, administrator of the Union Territory (UT), He announced after a meeting of the Education Department and resumed the classes.

Total 64,000 population in Lakshadweep,11,000 kids in the Union Territory were back to school on Tuesday. Few parents were also tensed about their kids wearing a mask for constant hours which may lead them to suffocation and several other problems.

The decision regarding the pre -primary kids is pending.

According to the statement of a teacher, from Government Junior Basic School, on Amini Island, said that " All the students were screened and hands were washed before entering the school, masks were also mandatory and only one student is permitted to sit individually on a bench".

"Only three days per week", says Showkath Ali, Assistant Education Officer. Classes will be only for three days per standard.

Lakshadweep has also issued it's travelling guidelines before arriving on the Island.

Residents arriving from outside should have COVID report as negative and will be quarantined in Government Authorized facility in Kerala and later will be quarantined for 7days in Lakshadweep.

Before the lock down, The Union Territory Authorities have shut up its port, airstrip for tourists.
