Zomato launches vaccination drive for its delivery partners


When Covid-19  cases were at the peak, the whole country was under lockdown however delivery partners were still on duty to serve the Nation with ordered foods. Delivery partners were risking their lives and providing meals to Covid patients as well.  Covid-19 vaccination has started and India is also preparing for the Third wave of Covid-19. On the other hand, the Online food Delivery app Zomato has launched an initiative to vaccinate all their delivery partners in the Delhi and NCR region. This initiative started last week.

The announcement came into the limelight after Zomato CEO, Deepinder Goyal announced via tweet, "Last week, we started vaccinating our delivery partners in NCR. In one of the largest efforts of its kind, we are facilitating a free and safe vaccination Drive for more than 1,50,000 of our frontline staffs and employees. Thousands of our delivery partners are already vaccinated." said the tweet. Zomato is also bearing the cost of the vaccination and offering incentives to its delivery partners for finding vaccine slots of their own.

Meanwhile, Zomato's CEO, also announced that the vaccination drive will be expanding to other parts of our Country. The drive will be also rolled out in Mumbai and Bengaluru, he said the delivery partners of other cities will also be vaccinated by next week. According to the tweet  "The safety of our customers is the #1 priority for is and delivery partners who have selflessly and safely delivered hundreds of millions of orders during the pandemic, said Goyal.

Currently, vaccination drives are going on for people between the ages of 18 above.
