67th National Film Awards

Earlier National Film Awards were being announced in New Delhi. The 67th ceremony will honour movies and actors for the year 2019.


In the recently concluded National Awards ceremony, Bollywood films won big in the feature film category, Manoj Bajpayee (Bhosle) and Dhanush (Tamil) won the Best Actor award, the Best Actress award went to Kangana Ranaut for her performance in Manikarnika and Panga. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham emerged as the Best Feature Film while Sushant Singh Rajput won for the same for his performance in Chhichhore.

The awards were initially going to be held last year but were delayed due to a new strain of Covid which took place this year. The awards were announced during a press conference by N Chandra, the chairman of the central panel and the press conference was attended by various jury members like Arun Chaddha, chairman most film friendly State jury Shaji N. Karun, as well as chairman best writing on cinema jury Saibal Chatterjee the awards were disclosed in the National Capital. The awards are given out by the Directorate of Film Festivals in the event, an organization that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The event finally took place on Monday and here we are with a couple of winners at the National Film Awards 2020.

Best Feature Film - Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham

Best Hindi Film-Chhichhore

Best Actor (Male) - Manoj Bajpayee (Bhosle) and Dhanush (Asuran)

Best Actor (Female) - Kangana Ranaut (Manikarnika and Panga)

Best Supporting Actor (Male) -Vijay Sethupathi

Best Supporting Actor (Female) -Pallavi Joshi
