Akshay Kumar reveals inspiration behind Bachchhan Paandey's title

Bachchhan Paandey is all Set to hit the big screen on 18th March

Akshay Kumar has revealed the actual inspiration behind the fascinating title of his upcoming movie Bachchhan Paandey.  It is slated to release theatrically on the 18th of March i.e. Holi. 

Taking about Bachchhan Pandey in the film, Akshay plays a gangster with an eye of stone. It stars Kriti Sanon as an aspiring filmmaker who needs to make a biopic on him and Jacqueline Fernandez as his girlfriend. And Arshad Warsi also playing pivotal roles. 

The film is a few weeks away from release and the actors are busy with promotions. At a press event, Akshay revealed how the idea for the title of the film was came to his mind. Akshay said, "At the success party of Housefull 4,  I just saw a picture of Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey. And that's how we got the title Bachchhan Paandey. "

Akshay arrived for the event in a grey tee and matching blazer with black pants. Kriti joined him in a yellow gawn and Jacqueline was in a colourful saree. Arshad Warsi was in a denim look. 

Moreover, Bachchhan Paandey also marks Akshay's 10th film with Nadiadwala. Speaking about his journey with the producer, Akshay shared that they go back a long time. "My journey with Sajid Nadiadwala goes very far back. We went to school together, travelled in the same bus. I have struggled in his office, went their to ask for work. Our first film was Waqt Hamara Hai and since then, We have done so many films - most being hits. So, I hope the count reaches 20 soon, " said the actor. 

He added, he loved playing role of a villain in Bachchhan Paandey. "I have realised that the villain has the good role and there is a lot of substance to his character as opposed to the hero, who only wins in the last 10 minutes of the film. It was fun to play the role,"  he said at the event. 

This week the star cast of the film is also going to be seen in the Kapil Sharma Show. Akshay Kumar shared a funny video from the sets. 

Bachchhan Paandey has been directed by Farhad Samji. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhimanyu Singh, Sanjay Mishra and Prateik Babbar, among others, is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
