Teaser of Alia Bhatt’s “Gangubai Kathiawadi’ Dropped

The teaser of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring actress Alia Bhatt was released on Wednesday on the occasion of the 58th birthday of the film’s director. The film is based on one of the chapters of a book named ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ by S Hussain Zaidi. The film also stars actor Ajay Devgun in a special appearance . The teaser which lasted for one-minute-thirty-seconds portrays Alia Bhatt in a never seen avatar before.

According to the teaser the film is about Gangubai Kothewali, a brothel owner and a matriarch from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace her destiny and swing it in her favor. From a brothel queen she transforms herself into a politician. The viewers are introduced to the character of Alia as Gangu the boss woman. She looks promising and is a visual treat to her fans. Actor Alia in the movie is dressed in traditional sarees and sporting long hairstyles with kohl rimmed eyes and a bold red bindi completing her look.

The theatrical release date of the film is dated on July 30 by the makers. This film also marks Bhansali’s first ever collaboration with Alia and this project will see a collaboration between Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited by Janatilal Gada.
