Amir Khas Daughter, Ira Khan Feel Strong To Talk About Her Depression

Ira Khan posted on Instagram about depression

Depression has always been a taboo mental illness. The acceptance of this illness is a big no in our society, people don’t consider it as an illness and fails to state the consequences of it. But in the recent celebs have been trying to build awareness among the people by talking about their own experiences.

In the recent post of Amir Khan's daughter, Ira khan feels strong to talk about her depression which she has been diagnosed with four years ago. She has posted on her Instagram handle about it, where she wrote on her caption “A lot has been going on, a lot of people have a lot to say. Things are confusing and stressful and simple and okay but not okay and… life all together… There’s no way to say it all in one go. But I’d like to think I’ve figured some stuff out, or at least figured out how to make it slightly more understandable. About mental health and mental ill-health. So come with me on this journey… in my awkward, quirky, sometimes-baby-voice-y, as-honest-as-I-can-be… way (sic).

She has also mentioned how she always wanted to do something for mental health and mental ill-health but never knew where to start from but now she’s has taken a first step in the hope of making some difference.

This is not the first time a celebrity kid has come out with their depression story, earlier Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan addressed how she has been bullied for her skin complexion since a young age. Even Deepika Padukone had spoken about her depression and how hard it was for her to fight and overcome it.

Ira also stated how sad it is that the actual adults make such comments knowing that us being an Indian brown is our skin color, some have a brighter tone of it and some have darker there is nothing that can be done and there shouldn’t be anything to be done. Brown is our colour and we should embrace it. But making fun of the obvious talks a lot about the mentality of the society. She also said that such hate comments also show how painfully insecure one is.

Doctors have always said how depression is an ailment which affects the mind but not the social standing of the person, but yet we fail to recognize it because he/she looked happy in that party or because they have a lot of fortune what would they be depressed for.
