Anti-drugs agency to continue questioning Ananya Panday today

Ananya Panday was questioned for two hours by the anti-drugs agency officials on Thursday.

Actor Ananya Panday, daughter of Bollywood actor Chunky Panday, is scheduled to reach the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office for questioning in Mumbai at 11 am today. She was questioned for two hours by the anti-drugs agency officials on Thursday in connection with the drugs-on-cruise case.

Reportedly, the 22-year-old's Mumbai residence was also raided and her mobile phone and laptop were seized by the NCB yesterday. Her name came up in the WhatsApp chats of one of the accused in the case. However, an NCB official said that since she was being questioned "does not mean she is an accused."

Another NCB team had visited superstar Shah Rukh Khan's home 'Mannat' around the same time to collect documents related to his son, Aryan Khan, one of the accused in the case. The 23-year-old Aryan was arrested along with seven others by the NCB on October 3.

Ananya Panday is known to be Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan's best friend and these star kids often socialise together. Meanwhile, Aryan Khan's bail plea was rejected by the local court following which an appeal was filed in the High Court challenging the lower court's order. The Mumbai local court on Wednesday citing his regular indulgence in "illicit drug activities" had rejected the bail plea.

According to the court, accused Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chats prima facie revealed that he was a regular consumer of drugs. The court also noted that though no drugs were found in possession of Aryan, six grams of "charas" was recovered from his friend Arbaaz Merchant's shoe and it seemed Aryan knew about it. The court said that all facts prima facie show that the accused "acted in conspiracy with each other."
