Box office: Spiderman No Way Home creates history

50,000 tickets were sold in just 3 hours at PVR

The booking of Spiderman No Way Home opened at the national multiplex chains of India in late Sunday evening, but that couldn’t stop the superhero film from creating history.

According to the data, PVR sold over 50,000 tickets for the film in 3 hours. This shows the popularity and the craze between the fans for this. “Marvel” movie.

The price of the ticket has risen since the theatres are going fully sold for the film. At some theatres, the price of the ticket is more than Rs 2000.

“It’s Spider-Mania….. #SpiderMan is at an advance booking across #India. First #Sooryavanshi now #SpiderMan. The revival of Theatrical Biz has begun,” Indian film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

“One look at the TICKET PRICING of #Spiderman and you will rub your eyes in disbelief. At places, it’s as high as Rs 2000 per seat. And the shows are #Housefull in advance.

Indicates that moviegoers are ready to dig into their pockets for entertainers that excite them,” Taran Adarsh added.

Out of 51,000 tickets sold, nearly 37,000 are for the opening day whereas the remaining 14,000 is split between Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It is already in the race competing with pre-pandemic blockbusters like Bahubali 2, War and Avengers: End Game. However, it’s too early to say if it can pass the first-day biz of the current biggest opener of 2021, Sooryavanshi.

While we are yet to get the exact figures for the other two national chains, INOX and Cinepolis, the two chains combined are expected to have sold 35,000 plus tickets in advance, taking the total of 85,000 with a cumulative gross of 3.40 crore.

Spiderman No Way Home is set to release in theatres on December 16 in India.
