What is the most preferred genre in the Bollywood industry for songs?

They say, we are paid professionals and our job is to cater to all genres of music. There are no favourites. Each song is special, be it Dance meri rani or Hamari adhoori kahani. For them, each song is a special one.

Whereas they say that the journey has just started.

What came into your mind to begin as a lyricist?

The duo lyricist said it was Hansal Mehta who trusted, Satish Kaushik who inspired and Bhushan Kumar ji who extracted the best out of me and Mahesh Bhatt changed my life.

They replied stating that it's a pretty long list by now so I will tell you my favourites: Kabhi Tumhe Yaad from Shershah by Javed Mohsin. Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon by Amaal Malik. Mana Dil Da He Mera Hai Kusur from Good News by Tanishk Baghchi and Hamari Adhoori Kahani by Jeet Ganguly. Also Bol Do Na Zara and Khamoshiyaan

Knowing in-depth about their latest work with Sadhguru in the Bandeya song

Well, Meet Brothers asked me to write a song on the save the soil theme. We met in their studio and we had a short organic session and we had the song. Sadguru ji is an inspiration and it was an honor to write for his campaign.

How's the feeling when your song is in the limelight?

My songs are in the hearts of my listeners and I don’t care about the limelight. It’s a short-lived phenomenon.

How long does it take to write lyrics for the song?

Replying to the question they said, Depends on who I am dealing with. But I am quick.

Knowing about upcoming plans?

Career-wise I am surely going to go independent by the end of this year and create some beautiful romantic tracks that break rules and don’t follow trends. I will cut my heart open and write those songs.

What is creativity according to you?

Good question. Creativity is a blessing that is showered on a select few. Count on your blessings.

Lastly, what motivates you to go more with the flow in terms of work!

Rashmi does. In her eyes are all my songs, her thoughts and her simplicity make me sway? She is my wife, my partner, my love, and the reason why I still exist. If she is not happy with a song or a melody I don’t do it.
