Fatima Sana Talks About How She Felt After Thug Of Hindustan Performance

Fatima Sana Shaikh recently talked about the success of Dangal and the failure of Thugs of Hindustan and the way she felt her career was over.


Fatima Sana Shaikh played a role the movie Thugs of Hindustan which was released in 2018 and it had been touted to be the most important film of that year. Unfortunately, after a great start at the box-office, the collections showed the decline and ultimately, it failed in box-office of India.

Talking about the movie, in one of her interviews with Rajeev Masand, the actress said about it and what happened post it's a shocking failure. She very boldly stated that "Of course, the failure of Thugs of Hindustan was a huge blow to me. After Dangal, everything was new- the celebrity, the applause, and suddenly there have been abuses. It was a touch shocking and that I felt my career was over because I used to be dropped out of some films."

In that same interview, she was saying, "And then you're feeling whether you'll get work or not. And you furthermore may don't need to compromise on the type of labor that you simply want to try to do, you do not want to be in a neighborhood of certain quiet films. And then you create those choices then fear 'Am I therein position to form those choices?' which also means I'll not be working for subsequent one year."

She also stated that "That also means I'll probably be doing one film during a year. But I glided by my instincts and said to myself that albeit I'm not getting to be doing tons of labor, it's fine. I would preferably be happy doing what I do, but yes, I felt very low. And that's a process, I'm much calmer now. I have learned to try to do my work and advance because you can't bank all of your money into one project and think if this works only then you will get more work."

Shaikh then went on to speak about the critical panning that the film received and the way it made her feel, especially coming from the blockbuster success of Dangal. She again said that "Heartbreaking honestly, but I also feel which may happen to anybody. Tomorrow if you write a story and you set your heart and soul and you do not get the specified result, you will be upset. I would lie if I say that it doesn't interest me."

She also talks about the process by saying, "How you process that after handling is altogether a special thing. It breaks your heart, breaks your soul. Especially because it's taken tons of your time to urge into this industry. Dangal doesn't happen fairly often, you do not get a chance to be a neighborhood of a movie like that. She also said that, I am thanking my stars and that I was clear that if the film failed, I would not have left the industry, because it's taken years of struggle to urge into this industry."

Talking about self-doubt, the actress said, "When I saw Dangal, I assumed I used to be not good. I was still not very sure of my work in the film industry. I'm scared and that I question myself tons'' she said. The actress is now getting ready for her upcoming 2 projects- Ludo and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. As a toddler actor, she has been seen in films like Chachi 420, Khoobsurat, and One Two Ka Four.
