Shruthy Daga KBC winner bags 50 lakhs without any lifeline!

Shruthy Daga from Kolkata takes the hotseat in Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. She is a software engineer, born in Tamil Nadu and has been living in Kolkata since four years post marriage.

The show is hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood legend, and enjoys a massive fan following on social media. The contestants for the season are not only exceptionally knowledgeable but also talented.

During the conversation with this intelligent personality numerous things were asked;

Knowing about Shruthy’s journey so far ?

Replying to it she says, It has been an amazing experience , once in a lifetime opportunity. The whole experience was exciting and it cannot be put up in the right words.By the grace of almighty , family and friends the whole journey has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my lifetime.

How was the experience with Big B ?

The KBC contestant said; From seeing him on the television to witnessing his presence on the KBC sets , I was speechless . His charismatic presence , his sense of humour and warmth , everyone in the set automatically gets cheered up with joy seeing him.

The most important takeaway was his dedication towards what he was doing . It took me a long time to realise that I actually met the legend of all times .

Knowing about a story related to the event so far ?

Shruthy says, I had never been to Mumbai before in my life . And , I used to joke to my folks saying ‘mumbai tabhi jayenge , jab Bachan saab se Milne ka Mauka milega’ and , to my surprise, it really turned out to be true.

My first visit to Mumbai was due to KBC , and I couldn’t be happier .

How many hours did you study and prepare for it ?

To be honest , I thought I would be giving my 200 % , and will give my best .But , unfortunately I wasn’t keeping well , and all I could devote was 2-3 hours a day .My husband , Dr. Sumit Khatore, also contributed to the studying part . All we discussed after a hi and hello over a phone call , was Q&A as a prep for KBC . 

It’s an ocean , and the learning since day 1 of my life has helped me in this.

What was the question asked for Rs 50 lakhs?

Which institution developed and maintains the National Digital Library of India ? Ans : IIT Kharagpur

What fluctuated in your mind to go for KBC?

She said; This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I didn’t want to miss it at any cost . Not everyday you get a call like this . But , since I wasn’t at the best of my health I had second thoughts for a while . But , my family didn’t let me give up on both and , I felt so lucky about this

Shruthy says; I was ecstatic seeing the happiness around ; Everyone was so excited. My folks from my hometown Sivakasi , Tamilnadu and the city I currently live in currently Kolkata , my apartment folks and family and friends ‘ known ones were also equally excited .

"I felt like I was on ‘cloud 9’ when Mr Bachchan first announced my name. I could not believe that my feet were taking me across the floor to the hot seat and I was being seated on the chair by the legendary Amit ji himself.

Sir told the audience how Shruthy means 'nidar' or fearless and he complimented me on my gameplay and how I was doing well. That boosted my confidence, and I played my level best, I gave it my all. It was a surreal experience, and I still cannot believe that I got an opportunity to be on a prestigious show like Kaun Banega Crorepati!

There are moments when life feels like a dream, and this was one of those moments. I hope the audience enjoys my gameplay and cheers me on as I move ahead in the show."
