Haseen Dillruba becomes the most-watched Indian movie on Netflix

Taapsee Pannu’s movie has more than 24.63 million views between July to December

Tapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey’s film ‘Haseen Dilruba’ becomes the most-watched Indian movie on Netflix.

According to a survey, Vinyl Mathew’s film has become the most-watched film on Netflix. Sharing the excitement, Vinil Mathew said, “As a filmmaker, Haseen Dilruba was a challenging drama as it was threaded with many nuances. I am very happy to get so much love from the audience. It encourages me to take up more new subjects and follow my point of view.’

Sharing the success, the film’s star cast, Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Harshvardhan Rane, writer Kanika Dhillon, filmmaker Vinyl Mathew and Aanand L Rai posted a story about the same. Haseen Dilruba has got 24.63 million views between July and December, followed by ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Mimi’ and ‘Dhamaka’.

Haseen Dilruba is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language romantic mystery thriller film directed by Vinyl Mathew and produced by Aanand L. Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banner Colour Yellow Productions, T-Series and Eros International. 

The film premiered on 2 July 2021 on Netflix. The film draws inspiration from Roald Dahl's infamous short story, Lamb to the Slaughter. Upon release, Haseen Dilruba received mixed reviews from the film critics.

The story revolves around a woman suspected of killing her husband and narrates an interesting story about her marriage while investigating police officers looking for clues to arrest her. 

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar led Sooryavanshi becomes Netflix’s most-watched Hindi film for a non-direct OTT release.

Sooryavanshi was made available on Netflix 28 days after its release. As per the data released by Netflix, the Rohit Shetty directed movie was watched by 22.2 million viewing hours in the first 4 weeks.
