Hrithik Roshan in online impersonation case appeared at crime branch,Mumbai
Bollywood megastar Hrithik Roshan arrived at the Mumbai crime branch office on Saturday to record his statements in connection with the 2016 fake email case, that someone impersonating him has been sending emails to actress Kangana Ranaut by using a bogus email id. Kangana had then claimed that the e-mail id was given to her by Roshan and they were in communication through the same e-mail id till 2014. The e-mail was allegedly sent in 2013 and 2014.
An official from the Commissioner’s office said “Roshan reached the commissioner’s office at around 11:45am and appeared before the officials of the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU).” Roshan was summoned by the CIU of the Mumbai crime branch to record his statement, the official added.
Roshan has accused Ranaut of harassing him by sending him numerous emails. The police have recorded Ranaut’s statement after concluding that the e-mails were sent from her id. The case which was earlier with the cyber cell of the Mumbai police in December 2020 was now transferred to the CIU on a request made by Roshan’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani
