After months or perhaps years of speculations, the big day has finally arrived, much to delight of one and all.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will marry today on April 14, in Mumbai after dating for over 4 years. They fell in love while shooting for their film Brahmastra and have been together for nearly four years now. They made their relationship official after they appeared together as a couple at Sonam Kapoor's wedding in 2018.
The couple's pre wedding festivities began tomorrow, April 13, with Mehndi and Sangeet at Ranbir's Bandra home, Vastu. It was a star - studded event with Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Karan Johar attending the event along with the couple's families.
Not a single photo of the mehendi function was shared on social media by the guests. Now Karishma Kapoor has shared the first mehendi photo.
Karishma looked ethereal in an anarkali set for Ranbir and Alia's mehendi ceremony. She opted for a regal - mustard - hued ensemble with intricate gold embroidery. Her dreamy ethnic ensemble featured a long kurti, matching pants and dupptta. She carried a potli in her hand and completed her look with a pair of traditional juttis.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Karishma revealed that she got a rather unique mehendi. Instead of getting a design drawn on her palm, Karishma chose to get the mehendi designed on her feet. She shared the picture with the caption, "I love Mehendi," along with a heart emojis.
Karishma and Kareena arrived together for Alia and Ranbir's Mehendi. Kareena was in a white lehenga. Neetu Kapoor arrived with daughter Riddhima Kapoor and granddaughter Samara. From the bride's side, Soni Razdan arrived with daughter Shaheen Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt arrived with Pooja Bhatt and was seen having a mehendi design on her hand as he left the venue.
Reportedly, the mehendi was followed by a small Sangeet ceremony, and singer prateek kuhad was invited to perform the functions. Confirming the wedding, last night Neetu Kapoor after the ceremony, the Paparazzi requested her to say something about her daughter - in - law, Neetu said, "What do I say about her. She is the best." Riddhima added, "She is very sweet and cute like a doll." Neetu said, "God bless them, really."
On the work front, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Brahmastra. It is an upcoming Hindi - language fantasy adventure film. Written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Karan Johar. It will be released on 9 September 2022.
