Laxmii celebrating stereotypes?

Akki’s Movie ‘Laxmii’ fails to impress Audiences.

Yes,its 2020 already and while all of us are celebrating women for smashing all sorts of stereotypes: Kamala Harris all set to take office as the first elected woman Vice President of the United State of America, Bollywood  is still stuck serving bangles to women while considering them weaker sex.

‘The day I will see a real ghost… I swear I will wear bangles,’ says our hero Aasif ! yes you heard it right so much for feminism and gender stereotypes

If we set out on the task of finding problems in the film's narrative Laxmii will leave us annoyed and aghast. It’s best for our own mental stability and for the sake of the most bankable actor in the B-town Akshay Kumar, lets us all assume that this movie never happened. Raghava Lawrence the director of the movie peddles the same stale stereotypes about the transgender community that are straight away offensive and make us cringe instead of provoking laughter. This film is a troublesome watch and may leave one wondering why this was even made in the first place.

Laxmii fails miserably as compared to the Bollywood bench marks of brainless comedies. This film is ridiculing the very things it claims to be celebrating, neither funny nor inspiring and the horror aspect doesn’t make much sense.

The year is yet not over but it’s absolutely safe to say that Laxmii is one of the least favorable movie of 2020.
