Leopard Attacks German Model During Photoshoot

Jessica Leidolph, a German model, was in the middle of a photoshoot when a leopard attacked her.


A German model who is 36-years-old was injured by a leopard during a photoshoot in Germany on Tuesday. The woman identified by the picture agency was Jessica Leidolph, who entered the enclosure that is home to two leopards at an animal shelter in eastern Germany. The owner of the property reportedly runs a retirement home for show animals.

During an attack, Ms. Leidolph voluntarily entered the enclosure of the leopards Troy and Paris on the private property of Nebra in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. She stated, " It [The leopard] kept biting my cheek, my ear, my head," told Bild, a local news outlet.

Ms. Leidolph was brought to the hospital by helicopter. It is not clear who organized the photoshoot or filmed Ms. Leidolph, but police stated that she sustained serious head injuries. Even though she underwent an operation, she still have scars from the attack. Jessica identifies herself as an animal lover on her website and she also has a collection of horses, cats, pigeons and parrots.

Municipalities are now investigating the attack, "but there is no danger to the population," said Steven Muller-Uhrig, spokesman for the Burgenland district.
