Movie ‘Acharya’ release postponed due to spike in Covid-19 cases

Movie was scheduled to release on February 4


Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's movie Acharya was scheduled to release in theatres on February 4, 2022. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers announced that the film's release had been postponed. A new release date will be announced once the situation get normal. The film is Directed by Koratala Siva, Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde are playing as a lead role.

Director Koratala Siva's Acharya was getting ready for a grand release in theatres on February 4. However, theatres across the country are operating at 50 per cent due to the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, the makers have decided to postpone the film's release.

The makers released a statement, "Due to the ongoing widespread of Covid, the release of Acharya is postponed. A new release date would be announced soon. Wishing everyone a happy Makar Sankranthi. Please stay safe and follow the Covid protocols."

“Acharya” is a social drama in which Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will play the roles of Naxalites. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film is produced by Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production Company. The production and the release were delayed due to the Covid-19 situation.

Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani and Sangeetha form the supporting cast. Cinematographer Tirru, editor Naveen Nooli and composer Mani Sharma are the part of the technical crew.
