Naatu Naatu Wins Oscar 2023

It is the first Indian production to win in the Best Song category…

Song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has won the Oscars 2023! This song has created history to become the first song from an Indian film to win in the Best Song category.

Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has won the Oscar in the Best Song category.

It competed with other nominees in the category which included Applause (Tell It like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Panther Wakanda Forever), and this is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once). Music director MM Keeravaani accepted the award with a Namaste.

With this, the film became the first song from the Indian production to win the award. It is the second Indian song to win an Oscar award after Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire won one in 2009 in this category.

Naatu Naatu had also won the Best song award at the Golden Globes 2023.

The Naatu Naatu craze has been taking over the Oscars this year. At the very start of the ceremony, the audience saw a spoof performance when Jimmy Kimmel was driven off stage by dancers performing the song Naatu Naatu’s hook step.

The audience also observed an energetic performance of the song. Rahul Sipligunj and Kalaa Bairavaa did a live performance on-stage.
