Naseeruddin Shah's Words For "Those Celebrating Taliban" In India

Naseeruddin stated that those who are happy about the resurgence of the Taliban should ask themselves whether they "want to reform their religion or live with the old barbarism".

The experienced actor Naseeruddin Shah has condemned what he says, "Sections of Indian Muslims are celebrating the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan," and described them as dangerous.

"Although the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan is a matter of concern for the whole world, the celebrations of the barbarians by some sections of Indian Muslims are no less dangerous," said Naseeruddin Shah in a video broadcast on social media networks.

The 71-year-old veteran actor stated that those who are happy about the resurgence of the Taliban should ask themselves whether they "want to reform their religion or live with the old barbarism". He made a distinction between what he called "Hindustani Islam" and what is practiced in other parts of the world. Islam religion in India has always been different from Islam around the world, he said, "May God not bring a time when he changes so much that we cannot even recognize him" added.

The Taliban took control of Afghanistan on August 15 after defeating government forces across the country at a rate that took the world by storm and surprised the United States as it withdrew its forces from the country. The group was overthrown by US-led forces two decades ago for harboring al-Qaeda, who planned the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Taliban leaders have stated that this time around, they will respect human rights and not allow terrorists to operate from land.
