'Not so sasti anymore' Taapsee Pannu breaks silence on I-T raids

Taapsee Pannu said on Saturday that the three days of "intense search" was conducted by the officials for three things.

Actor Taapsee Pannu whose properties were raided by the Income Tax Department, broke her silence on Twitter. She said on Saturday that the three days of "intense search" was conducted by the officials for three things. Ms Pannu tweeted three tweets on Twitter that read, "3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner. 2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before 3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister P.S- “not so sasti” anymore."

Referring to the earlier comment by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Ms Pannu made a remark in her third tweet. Ms Sitharaman had earlier said in a press conference that same people were raided in 2013 too but no issue was made out of it then. Ms Pannu also added a post-script and reacted to Kangana Ranaut's sister, Rangoli Chandel's "sasti copy" remark.

The Income Tax department had said on Thursday that it found a discrepancy and manipulation of income worth over Rs 650 crores while conducting searches at various places linked to actor Taapsee Pannu, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, the production house Phantom Films and two talent management companies, reported The Quint. About 168 tax officials have been searching 28 locations in the two cities in connection with the alleged tax evasion by firms connected to Mr Kashyap, his former business partners, Pannu and two talent management firms – Kwan Entertainment and Exceed Entertainment, as per Scroll.
