South Super Star Rajinikanth received Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is India's highest film honour, from Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan. Before entering the film industry, Rajinikanth used to work as a bus conductor and he dedicated the award to his old bus driver friend, who suggested him that he should join film Industry. They selected Rajinikanth for this honour because he is a "talented" person and very "down to earth"; said Actor Biswajit Chatterjee.
On Sunday, The superstar shared on Twitter about receiving the award and said it is one of the "two special landmarks". The other one is that his daughter Soundarya Vishagan's new app named Hoote, has launched.
After receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, superstar Rajinikanth along with his wife Latha visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office in New Delhi. He also visited the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
After Sharing the photos from his meet with PM Modi, Rajinikanth wrote, "It is a great pleasure to meet and greet the esteemed President and the Prime Minister."
