Cinema has been 'exhilarating'


Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee celebrated her 44th birthday on Monday, March 21. Rani has featured in listing of high - paid actresses of the 2000s. Rani Mukherjee and Filmmaker Aditya Chopra secretly tied the knot in Italy on April 21, 2014. The wedding was a small intimate affair with close ones and family. She has a daughter and her name is Adira. 

 

Rani celebrated her birthday with her friends including filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Anil Kapoor, choreographer Vaibhavi Marchant, fashion designer Manish Malhotra and many other celebs. Fans and celebrities have flooded social media platforms with adorable wishes for the actress. 

 

Taking to Manish Malhotra's Instagram account, he shared several pictures from Rani's birthday party. Sharing a selfie, Manish wrote, "Happy Birthday dearest @ranimukherjee." Vaibhavi Merchant also posted photos with Rani on her Instagram stories, Vaibhavi wrote, "Happy birthday my Jigripie" and added red heart emojis. 

 

In the photo, Rani Mukherjee wore a line green outfit along with neckpiece and kept her hair loose. Manish was dressed in a black outfit as they posed for the photo. 

 

On her 44th birthday, Rani sharing her journey in cinema has been 'exhilarating', she hopes it remains the same in the coming years. She shared in a statement, “I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the best minds in the form of directors, produces, actors and technicians who have pushed me to excel on - screen and reinvent myself every single time. I want to continue doing that with every project because I always want to push my boundaries to see where I land. I always knew that my journey will be tough but I sailed through the last 25 years with the audience love by my side and my hard work and perseverance." 

 

Rani was last seen in 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' with Saif Ali Khan and others. She will next be seen in "Mr. Chatterjee vs Norway."  The film is set to release theatrically on May 20. The film is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani's Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios. 

 

A film which Rani says is very 'close to her heart'. She said that she hopes it will resonate with every Indian the way it did for her and her team. Calling it an 'incredible story of human resilience'. Rani added, "I'm very emotionally invested in this story as it connected with me as an actor and a mother. These are stories that need to be told! 

 

I really hope my next few years in cinema are studded with more brilliant scripts. I am hungry for them because these films not only entertain audience but also delivers a great message to people. I want to do movies that are about hope and love."
