Saira Banu's Speedy Recovery From ICU, To Be Discharged Soon

Saira Banu has recovered from her disease and is out of ICU. She will be discharged soon.


Veteran Bollywood actress Saira Banu, who is currently admitted to Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital, is "okay" and has been transferred from the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU), apparently hospital officials said.

Earlier this afternoon, the hospital shared a health report of Saira Banu, according to which, she could be released in the next couple of days if her health continues to improve. “She has been transferred from the intensive care unit. She has been mobilized and is fine. She will likely be discharged in a day or two if there are no more problems, "as per the hospital official.

Saira Banu, 77, was hospitalized at the Hinduja Hospital on August 28 after suffering from shortness of breath and other complications such as high blood pressure and blood sugar. Saira Banu was transferred to the intensive care unit for three days due to an emergency. Apparently, a hospital doctor announced Thursday that Saira Banu had been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome, a heart disease. After her diagnosis, the veteran actress refused to undergo coronary angiography process.

In July, Saira Banu lost her husband, legendary actor Dilip Kumar who was struggling with age-related ailments. He was also admitted to the Hinduja Hospital and died at the age of 98.
