SC Issues Notice To ‘Mirzapur’ Makers And 'Amazon Prime Video'

Mirzapur and Amazon Prime Video receives notice from the Supreme Court.


The makers of the web series ‘Mirzapur’ and 'Amazon Prime Video' have been issued a notice by the Supreme Court on a petition filed by a resident of Mirzapur in UP. The web series is in trouble over the allegations of ‘maligning the image of Uttar Pradesh’ and this has come in the middle of controversy of another show of the same OTT platform named ‘Tandav’ which had premiered last Friday and was alleged that it had hurt the religious sentiment of the Hindus.

The petitioner SK Kumar of the case has complained that UP’s Mirzapur has been portrayed in the web series in a bad light and the web series is now in the second season. The petitioner also added that the city of Mirzapur has been displayed as a house of terror and hub of all sorts of illegal activities.
