‘Jersey’ crew cuts a massive ‘Cricket bat’ cake.


Shahid Kapoor along with the cast and crew recently celebrated the wrap of his upcoming Hindi remake “Jersey”. The actor with his ‘dream team’ cut a massive cake in the hills where the movie was being shot. He also penned down an emotional note on his social media handles.

The actor wrote on Twitter, “It’s a film wrap on #jersey....47 days of the shoot during Covid. Just unbelievable. I am so proud of the entire team. It’s nothing short of a miracle. I want to thank each & everyone from the unit for coming to set everyday, putting themselves at risk & doing what we all love.” He further wrote, “Telling stories that touch hearts and make a difference. #Jersey is a story that speaks of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The triumph of an indomitable spirit. If there was ever a time I could connect with the underlying spirit of a film this was it.”

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the soon to be released ‘Jersey’ is about a father named Arjun, a talented but failed cricket player. To fulfil his son’s wish for an Indian Jersey as gift, he decides to return to cricket in his late thirties and aims to play for the Indian team after a hiatus of 10 years.

The cake was beautifully designed in a shape of massive cricket bat which can be seen placing on a green pitch. The whole crew was seen wearing masks following the pandemic directives.

Kabir Singh famed actor also put up a story on his instagram writing, “14th December 2019 to 14th December 2020...This is my dream team. Each one of them has my deepest gratitude.”
