SSR Fans trend #boycottbingo and bash Ranveer Singh for the product's ad

Bingo ad faces backlash as SSR fans found resemblance to his behaviour in the character played by Ranveer Singh.

The latest target of netizens' anger is popular Bingo chips and its brand ambassador Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, both of whom are accused of making fun of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput for their recent collaboration with the ad 'Beta aage kya plan hai'.

The controversial ad depicts Ranveer Singh attending a house party when an adult asks him about his plans for the future. Soon, several uncles and aunts start suggesting options while Ranveer, after having a Bingo chip, mentioned some scientific terms such as 'photon', 'algorithm' and 'paradox' to close relatives. As soon as the confused relatives leave, Ranveer reveals that the only solution to these tricky questions is to use the ‘mad angle’.

After the ad was released and the audience saw it, social media users were annoyed to see how words like 'photon', 'algorithm' and 'paradox' were included in the script allegedly to taking a jibe at late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who loved to talk about science, astronomy and was interested in the study of space. In fact, Sushant's Instagram bio reads, "Photon in a double-slit". The late actor also used to mention algorithms and space on his social media posts.

As a result, the ad led Twitterati to believe that Ranveer is making fun of Sushant and therefore wanted the ad to be banned and started the  #BoycottBingo campaign to vent their anger over the ad.
