The Kashmir Files film crosses Rs. 250 Crore Worldwide

Film is going great business at the box office!


The Kashmir Files has done the marvelous! On Sunday, March 27, the film has crossed Rs250 crore at the global box office. It also reportedly earned Rs8 crore on Day 17 in India.

 

The Kashmir Files, which released on March 11, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990. It stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in the film.

 

After its release The Kashmir Files saw growth on the third weekend. Vivek Agnihotri took to Instagram and shared a poster of The Kashmir Files breaching the Rs250-crore club worldwide.

 

The poster read, "The Kashmir Files. Worldwide box office 252.45 crore in 16 days." It also read, "Third Sunday Box office India- 7.60 crore and Overseas- 2.15 crore." Sharing the post, the director captioned it, "DAY 16 #RightToJustice.

 

The Kashmir Files is based on the life of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency.

 

The film is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit Community. 

 

It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits which also questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.

 

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is bankrolled by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners. 

 

The cast comprises Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit, Chinmay Mandlekar as Farooq Malik aka Bitta (Inspired by Farooq Ahmed Dar), Puneet Issar as DGP Hari Narain.
