Verdict in favour of Kangana Ranaut in demolition case, Actress reacts.

Verdict in Kangana's favour

The verdict of the case filed by actress Kangana Ranaut against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), finally landed in Kangana's court. The case was registered by the actress on account of unauthorized demolition of a part of office in bungalow by the city's civic body. The Bombay High Court adjourned the Friday's court by delivering the decision in favour of the actress and declaring the step taken by BMC as "nothing but malice in law". The actress will be compensated for all the damage caused during the demolition.

The roots of the case could be retracted from the events that happened on September 9. BMC forwarded its step to demolish the office cum residence in Mumbai's Pali hill. She accused BMC of unlawfully breaking into her house and conducting this act. Bombay HC heard the petition filed by the actress, thrashing the notice served by BMC on account of illegal construction or extension of property.

The 'Queen' actress, never fails to steal the limelight with her bold and undaunted stands on social media, nearly on everything. The actress firmly asserted that the actions of BMC are in response to her comments against Maharashtra government and Shiv Sena after Sushant's death. The same party heads the actions of BMC-India's richest Municipal Corporation , so the actress accused the civic body without directly naming Shiv Sena.

The case was chaired by SJ Kathawala and RI Chagla who clearly declared that the acts of MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) were based on wrongful grounds and intended to intrude in the rights of citizens. They also unjustified the use of 'muscle power' against any citizen. The court also warned the actress to use some filters while posting such outrageous comments on issues, people or parliamentarians like Sanjay Raut. Words from a celebrity are treated as statements and one should not use them to demean or disrespect fellow citizen.

Ms Ranaut claimed a compensation of 2 crores from the Municipal body, against the illicit and defamatory demolition. However, the court appointed a valuer to hear the petition and analyse the losses to draft the real value of compensation to be granted by the civic body by March 2021.

The actress took to her twitter handle after hearing the verdict and wrote, "When an individual stands against the government and wins, it's not the victory of the individual but it's the victory of democracy. Thank you everyone who gave me courage and thanks to those who laughed at my broken dreams. It's only because you play a villain so I can be a hero." She also posted a video expressing her elation over the delivered justice on her Instagram handle. She praised the government and Bombay HC for leading in the right direction and motivated her fans to speak truth, stand for truth and fight for truth because at the end it is truth that prevails.
