Yash Chopra’s Wife Dies At 74

Pamela Chopra took her last breath in Mumbai…


On Thursday morning, 20 April 2023, Film producer Pamela Chopra, died at the age of 74 in Mumbai, the family announced the news in a statement.

"With heavy hearts, we would like to inform you that Pamela Chopra passed away today. Her cremation took place at 11 am.

We thank you for all your prayers and we would like to request privacy in this moment of deep sadness," read the statement.

Pamela Chopra was survived by her son Aditya Chopra and actor-son Uday Chopra. Aditya Chopra is married to Rani Mukerji.

Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar paid tribute to Pamela Chopra via tweet. He wrote, "Today Pam ji, the better half of Shri Yash Chopra, has passed away. She was a great human being.

Intelligent, educated, warm, and witty. Those who like me have worked closely with Yash Ji know about her contribution to his scripts and music. She was an exceptional person."

Pamela Chopra worked as a singer, writer, dress designer, and co-producer in several Yash Raj Films.

Mrs. Chopra lastly worked in the Netflix documentary on YRF titled The Romantics.

 

In the documentary, she spoke about her husband's journey in the Indian cinema.
